WWU Golf: Viking men add Tacoma's Jordan Lee to program for 2018-19 season

Jordan Lee to join the Vikings for the 2018-19 season

April 11, 2018

BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Western Washington University head men’s golf coach Luke Bennett has announced that Jordan Lee out of Bellarmine Prep in Tacoma will join the program after signing a national letter of intent and will join the Vikings for the 2018-19 season.

Lee is a product of golf powerhouse Bellarmine Prep, where he has helped lead the Lions to three consecutive WIAA 4A state championships. The Tacoma native recently captured the Washington Junior Golf Association Western Open title for the 16-18 boys division with a 36-hole score of 6-under-par 138 (71-67) at Capitol City Golf Course in Olympia.

“Jordan has a phenomenal work ethic and has shown that he can compete with the best in the region in the summer tournaments and had a great performance in the recent Western Open,” said WWU head coach and former Viking All-American Luke Bennett. “We are excited to have him join the program starting next fall. I think he is going to mesh well with the team and bring some additional passion and enthusiasm to the program.”

Lee also finished 7th at the 2017 WJGA State Championship finishing at 4-under-par 212 last summer in the Tri-Cities and was 3rd at the WJGA Tournament of Champions finishing with a 5-over-par 149 at Whidbey Golf Club.

“I am really excited to join the program this fall and represent Western Washington University,” said Lee.

Lee will be looking to lead Bellarmine Prep to its fourth consecutive state championship later this spring at Canyon Lakes Golf Course in Kennewick. He was recently named the 4A South Puget Sound League Golfer of the Year for the second consecutive year and was the medalist at the 2017 SPSL League Tournament.
