WWU Rowing: Vikings Move up to No. 3 in National Coaches Poll

BELLINGHAM, Wash. – For the third consecutive week, the Western Washington University women’s rowing team has jumped a spot in the USRowing/CRCA NCAA Division II Poll, checking in at No. 3 in the May 9 edition of the national coaches poll.
WWU has had a strong second half of the 2018 regular season, including a 1st-place finish by the fours and a 3rd-place finish by the eights at the Western Intercollegiate Rowing Association (WIRA) Championships.
The final regular-season edition of the coaches poll is filled with West Region teams, including No. 1 Central Oklahoma, No. 3 WWU, No. 5 UC San Diego, No. 6 Humboldt State and No. 7 Seattle Pacific.
The Vikings were listed No. 2 in final edition of the NCAA Division II West Region rankings, with the fours holding the top spot after their gold-medal performance at the WIRA Championships.
Western, the 2017 NCAA Division II national champion, will now wait for the NCAA Division II Rowing Championships Selection Show that will air on Monday, May 14 at 2 pm PT on NCAA.com.
