Under new guidance, Bellingham United FC plays their Evergreen Premier League Washington season opener Saturday. New head coach Jason Conway will lead the Hammers into battle against the Oly Town Artesians at the Phillips 66 NW Soccer Park.
Conway, a native of Dublin, Ireland, was named head coach back in March. He's been an assistant coach at Gonzaga Prep and the Technical Director at Bellingham High School. Conway also spent 21-years involved locally with the WFC Ranger program coaching teams from U12-U19 and was named the WFC Rangers Boys Technical Director in 2013.
Conway replaced Lance Calloway who announced in February he was stepping down after leading BUFC since their inception back in 2011.
