Prep Baseball Playoffs Start This Week

The prep baseball postseason begins this week for seven Whatcom County schools. 2A district playoff games start Tuesday, May 1st. 1A district games get underway Saturday, May 5th.
Blaine, Bellingham and Sehome are all in action tomorrow in loser out contests. The Borderites (11-9) play host to Sedro-Woolley at 4:30pm. At 6:00pm the Red Raiders (3-15) visit Mountlake Terrace and the Mariners (14-6) battle Lakewood at Joe Martin Field.
Winners advance to action on Saturday in Anacortes as the format shift to a double elimination format. The Lynden Lions (14-6), who got an opening round bye, will play the Bellingham/Mountlake Terrace winner Saturday at 12:00pm at Volunteer Park.
Lynden Christian (12-8), Nooksack Valley (9-11) and Meridian (13-7) all open up double elimination, 1A bi-district play Saturday in Bellingham. The Lyncs will play the still-to-be-detremined number 1 seed out of the Emerald City League at 10am at Sehoime High School. Also at 10AM the Pioneers match-up against Cedar Park Christian at Joe Martin Field. The Trojans, the top-seed out of the Northwest Conference, will play Kings at Joe Martin Field at 12:00pm.
