McClain Slams Bells to Sweep of Elks

Grand slam, walk-off and a sweep. The Bellingham Bells had quite a Monday in a 7-4 victory over the Bend Elks at Joe Martin Field.
With two outs in the bottom of the 9th, infielder Matt McClain hit a grand slam home run to give Bellingham their 3rd straight victory. The Bells earn the sweep after outscoring the Elks 22-6 in the 3-game set.
Carson Olson (3-1; 3.07 ERA) worked one inning of relief to pick up the victory on the mound.
At 27-and-14 Bellingham has the best overall record in the West Coast League. The Bells, winners of the North Division first half, announced Monday they will be hosting the WCL playoffs on August 11th.
Bellingham opens up a 3-game series vs. the Port Angeles Lefties tonight. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35pm at Joe Martin Field.
