Lefties Take 2 from Bells on Saturday

Port Angeles handed Bellingham two West Coast League loses yesterday. The Lefties beat the Bells 3-1 and 7-5 at Civic Stadium in
Port Angeles.
In the first game, The two teams were finishing the final 2-and-a-half innings from Friday's match-up that was postponed by rain. Action resumed in the bottom of the 7th with the score tied at 1-1.
Port Angeles first baseman Kyle Schimpf took care of business in the bottom of the 8th with a 2-out, 2-run home run. Pitcher Triston Busse went 5 innings over two day for the win. Bellingham's Tyler Williams suffers his first loss of the season.
In game two a late rally by the Bells was not enough as Bellingham fell 7-5. A five-run 8th inning, breaking a 2-2 tie for Port Angeles proved to be the difference.
Catcher Ronnie Rust had 4 RBI's to lead the Lefties on offense. Tyler Tan pitched the final two innings for Port Angeles. The right-hander picked up the victory despite surrendering 3 Bellingham runs in the bottom of the 9th.
Bellingham (4-4) and Port Angeles (6-2) wrap up their series today. Will Smith goes to the mound for the Bells versus Avery Santos for the Lefties. First pitch is scheduled for 1:05pm.
