Playoff Bound Ferndale Rolls Meadowdale

A hot start triggered a runaway playoff clinching victory for Ferndale Friday night in Wesco 3A crossover action. The Golden Eagles punished Meadowdale 56-15 at Edmonds District Stadium.
Ferndale started and finished strong They jumped out to a 14-0 lead within the first 2:15 of play in the first quarter and finished with a running clock after pushing their lead to 41 points with 9:19 left to play in the fourth quarter.
Senior RB Brian Ebe rushed for four touchdowns on the night. QB Sequoyah Julius threw for two scoring strikes. The senior connected with Jacob Broselle on a 60-yarder and with Watiko Leighton for 39-yards into the end zone.
Julius enjoyed the opportunity to air it out against the Mavericks.
"It felt awesome just knowing that my teammates and my coaches trust me," said Julius. "That helps my confidence so much and just knowing that I have such great receivers who can get open and I can lay the ball in their hands, it's awesome."
Jayden Brown was the star on defense for the Golden Eagles. In the first quarter, the senior linebacker recovered a botched snap on a punt and took it 9 yards to the house for a touchdown. He also recorded two second half interceptions of Meadowdale QB Hunter Moen.
The opposition will get much tougher in week 10 for the district playoffs. Ferndale (4-5) will play at Eastside Catholic November 3rd. The Crusaders (8-1) are currently the top ranked team in the 3A classification.
