Gonzaga's Ernie Yake Honored on Two All-WCC Teams

Gonzaga University infielder Ernie Yake has been named to the All West Coast Conference Second Team and the All-Freshman Team. The WCC season honors were announced Tuesday.
Yake, the former Squalicum High School and Bellingham Bells star, lead the Zags in batting average at .321 on the year. He also posted a .395 on-base percentage in the league, stole five bases and drew 12 walks.
On the defensive side, Yake committed just two errors at third base in 64 chances versus WCC opponents.

4 other Bulldogs were honored by the West Coast Conference. Daniel Bies and Casey Legumina were named to the All-WCC First Team. Pitcher Mac Lardner was named to the All-WCC Second team and pitcher Alek Jacob joined Yake on the All-Freshman squad.
Gonzaga (29-22) opens up play in the West Coast Conference tournament Thursday vs. Loyola Marymount in Stockton, California.
