District Tournament Volleyball Heating Up
It's a big night in the volleyball district playoffs for Whatcom County teams in the 1A and 2A. A total of five local teams are in action Tuesday night.
In 1A play, Lynden Christian(14-2) hosts Kings at 6:30 for the district championship. The Lyncs and Knights have both swept their way to the tournament finals. The winner is the No. 1 seed out of District 1 heading into next week's bi-district tournament.
Earlier at LC Meridian and Nooksack Valley will face loser out contests. The Trojans will battle South Whidbey and the Pioneers square off against Coupevdlle. the winners will then play each other for third and forth place heading into the bi-district tourney.
The 2A district tournament begins tonight with Bellingham and Sehome in action. The 7th seeded Red Raiders host the No. 10 seed Lakewood at 7pm in a loser out contest. The winner moves on to a showdown at No. 2 Lynden on Thursday.
9th seeded Sehome will look to advance when they play No. 8 Anacortes at Anacortes Middle School at 7pm. The winner advances to play at top seeded Liberty Thursday.
