District Softball: Meridian knocked out

The Meridian fast-pitch softball team saw their season come to an end Monday night. The Trojans (3-17) fell 14-7 to Sultan at home in the District 1 play-in game.
With the win Sultan advances to the double elimination portion of the bracket. The Turks will play Mount Baker (14-6) Thursday at 4:00pm at Janicki Fields in Sedro-Woolley.
On the other side of the bracket, Nooksack Valley (6-14) will play Cedar Park Christian on Thursday. Top seeds Lynden Christian and South Whidbey are also in action Thursday. They both will open up play in the semifinal round after getting opening round byes.
