State Golf: Lynden's Jordan Medcalf Tied for 1st

Lynden's Jordan Medcalf is halfway home to a golf 2A state championship. The freshman is tied for first place after the 1st round at the Liberty Lake Golf Course in Spokane.
Medcalf is tied with Paul Jacobsen of Sequim after both shot a 73 on Tuesday. The two will tee off second round play at 8:57am Wednesday.
Elsewhere in Spokane, Bellingham seniors Sophia Schmidt and Jada French are in the top-10 after first round play a girls 2A state at the Meadowwood Golf Course. Schmidt is in a 3-way tie for 3rd place with a 75 , while French is in 6th place after shooting a 77.
In the 1A ranks, Mount Baker's Clara Bergman sits in 4th place with an opening round 75 at the Tumwater Valley Golf Course. On the boys side, Nooksack Valley's Carson Linville is tied for 7th after shooting a 79 at the Olympia Country and Golf Club.
