Meridian's Mali Mack Signs NLI with WWU Women's Soccer

Meridian High School senior Mali Mack has signed a National Letter of Intent to play women's soccer at Western Washington University. The 2018 1A All State honorable mention defender will join the Vikings next fall.
Mack is a two-sport star for the Trojans, excelling in both soccer and track & field. According to Meridian Athletic Director Bryant Michelson, Mack was offered a spot on the WWU Track and Field team and the WWU Soccer team but eventually choose to pursue soccer.
Mack played 4 years of varsity soccer for the Trojans and earned 1st team All Northwest Conference honors as a defender her senior season.
As a 4 year track and field athlete, Mack was part of the 2017 1A 4 x 200 meter state championship relay team. She recently broke the Meridian school record in the 100 meter dash. The record was previously held by Tammie Steiber dating all the way back to 1980.
WWU women's soccer went 18-3-2 last season, winning their seventh Great Northwest Athletic Conference regular-season title. The Vikings advanced to the NCAA II Championships for the ninth time in program history eventually falling on penalty kicks to UC San Diego in the West Regional championship. WWU won the D2 national championship in 2016.
