Lynden's Riley Anderson Honored by WIAA

Lynden softball player Riley Anderson has garnered Athlete of the Week honors from the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association. The WIAA announced all 12 weekly winners, with a boy and girl honored from each classification, on Wednesday.
Anderson, a sophomore who plays first base, went 10 for 11 at the plate in three games last week, racking up 5 singles, 3 doubles, a triple, a homerun, and 10 RBI's. Lynden won 2 of the three games with a victory over Meridian and a split of a doubleheader versus Selah.
According to WhatcomPreps.com, Anderson entered last week with a .606 batting average a .667 on base percentage and a 1.061 slugging percentage.

The Lions are currently 10-4 overall and currently in third place in the Northwest Conference with a record of 6-1. Lynden is scheduled for two road games this week. They visit Nooksack Valley Wednesday and Burlington on Friday.
