Season Ends for Bellingham Blazers

The Bellingham Blazers saw their season come to an end Thursday with their third loss in pool play of the six-team Thorne Cup playoffs in Ogden, Utah. the Blazers lost 6-1 to the Edson Aeros.
Leading 1-0 after the first period, Edson struck for 4 goals in the second frame to put the game away. Emil Johansson and Kevin Lundin each scored two goals to lead the way for the Aeros.
Timon Prexler scored the lone Bellingham goal. The defender found the back of the net in the second period with assists going to Jamahl Eakett and Timothy Prexler.
After suffering 3 losses in 3 days, Bellingham and Long Beach were both knocked out of round robin play in the Western States Hockey League championship playoffs. The Blazers, winners of the Northwest Division playoffs, finish the year with a record of 34-17-0-3.
El Paso and Oklahoma City will play in one semifinal Friday followed by Ogden and Edson. The Thorne Cup championship is Saturday.
