Squalicum's Michelutti Named Girls Tennis NWC MVP

Squalicum's Catherine Michelutti is the girls tennis Northwest Conference Most Valuable Player. The senior took the top honors in a vote of NWC coaches which was announced with the release of the all-conference teams this week.
Michelutti is coming off a 4th place finish at 3A state over Memorial Day Weekend. She beat April Buckingham of Kennewick 7-6(4), 6-1 in her final match of the tournament.
While the Storm took the top individual honor, Sehome placed the largest amount of local players on the all-conference squads. Six Mariners were named All-NWC led by Emily Ma and Isla Hall on the first team.
Bellingham led the the way with first team honors with 4. The Red Raiders, placed Britney Butcher, Louli Ziels, Amaya Cook and Hannah Hodge on the top squad.
