State Champs: Reiss, Bellingham Girls & Lynden Girls Relay

Chalk up another state championship for Bellingham's Annika Reiss. The senior set a meet record in the 2A girls 3200 meters to win her second state title in three days at Mount Tahoma High School in Tacoma.
Reiss finished with a time of 10:47.77 besting the former top meet mark of 10:48. She out ran 2nd place finisher Lauren Larson of Port Angeles (10:54.11) and Saville Feist of Anacortes (10:55.88) who finished third.
Reiss won the 2A girls 1600 meters on Thursday with as time of 4:57.56. Her success helped Bellingham win the 2A girls team championship.
Bellingham scored 42 points to win the team title, edging North Kitsap and Port Angeles who tied for second with 39 points.
Lynden is also bringing a state championship back to Whatcom County. The Lions won the the 2A girls 4x400 meter relay. Sophomores Sara Jones and joMercy Berkmeyer joined junior Savonne Sterk and senior Amanda Mata to win it with a time of 4:01.20.
The Lions relay team were the top qualifiers with a mark of 4:00.46.
Lynden scored a total of 19 points as a team during the three day event.
