Prep Football Week 4: Ready for League Play
September 14, 2018
League play kicks into high gear in week four of the prep football season in Whatcom County. While Ferndale and Squalicum have already been playing league counters in the Wesco 3A North, the 2A and 1A ranks of the Northwest Conference will join them Friday.
Our game of the week features Blaine versus Sehome at Civic Stadium. Coverage on The Doug Lange Network begins at 6:45pm online at www.OnTheDLN.com.
The Mariners (1-2) just picked up their first win of the season with a 42-14 road win over Centralia September 14th. The Borderites (2-1) suffered their first loss, falling at home to Lynden Christian 14-to-3 in week 3.
The other top 2A match-up has No.5 Archbishop Murphy (1-1) visiting No. 3 Lynden (3-0). It's the first game between the two teams since the Wildcats topped the Lions 52-14 in the 2016 state semifinals.
In the 1A classification, No. 10 Lynden Christian (3-0) visits No. 5 Mt. Baker (2-1). Elsewhere undefeated Nooksack Valley (3-0) plays host to Number 8 Meridian (2-1)
