Pair of Pac-12 Arms to Join Bells

BELLINGHAM, Wash. – The Bellingham Bells have announced the addition of two Pac-12 Conference pitchers to their 2019 roster. Bryce Moyle, a sophomore left-hander from Washington State University, and Nick Proctor, a freshman right-hander from the University of California, Berkeley, will join the Bells this summer.
Moyle, from Carson City, Nev., is in the midst of his second year on the mound for the Cougars. So far this season, he has a 3.52 ERA with eight strikeouts in eight appearances out of the bullpen.
“Bryce can throw three pitches for strikes,” Bells pitching coach and recruiting coordinator Jim Clem said. “His stuff is really good and we expect Bryce to be a big contributor this summer. We’re very excited about what he can do.”
A big part of the Cougars’ pitching staff as a freshman, the five-foot-nine-inch Moyle appeared 16 times, striking out 18 batters in 22.1 innings pitched.
Moyle graduated from Carson High School where he was a four-year letter winner and served as a captain for three seasons. As a senior, he was named the 4A Nevada State Player of the Year by Las Vegas Review Journal after striking out 92 batters in 61 innings to go along with a 2.15 ERA.
Proctor, a native of Pleasanton, Calif., has had a pleasant start to his Cal career. Through five relief appearances he has three strikeouts and has yet to surrender an earned run.
“Nick has good sink on his fastball and a tough slider to go with it,” Clem said. “He’s an exceptional athlete and is going to be a great addition to our staff. We’re really excited for Nick to be a Bell this summer.”
Proctor, who like Moyle, is five feet nine inches, attended Amador Valley High School where he was named the Dons’ MVP in 2018. He also helped the team to an East Bay Athletic League title, aiding AVHS with a 2.95 ERA and 24 strikeouts in 19 innings pitched. Proctor was named first team All-EBAL and first team All-NorCal for his efforts.
“Both Bryce and Nick are known to be high character guys, so we’re confident they will be great in our clubhouse, in addition to on the field,” Clem said.
Moyle, Proctor and the rest of the 2019 Bells will kick off their summer on June 4 when they welcome the Kelowna Falcons to Joe Martin Field.
