NWAC Tourney: Grays Harbor Tops WCC Women

Grays Harbor used a big 4th quarter to upset the Whatcom Community College women Saturday in the Sweet 16 round of the Northwest Athletic Conference. The 3rd seeded Chokers topped the No. 2 seed Orcas 76-65 at Everett Community College.
Trailing by 1 heading into the final frame, Grays Harbor outscored WCC 30-18 to punch their ticket to the Elite Eight. The Chokers shot 10-of-16 (62%) in the 4th quarter while holding the Orcas to just 34% percent from the field.
Sandin Kidder scored 9 of her 23 points in the 4th quarter for for Grays Harbor. Charleea Armstrong added a double-double of 23 points and 10 rebounds.
Former Lynden High School star Elisa Kooiman led the Orcas with a double-double of her own with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Gabrielle Edison scored 15 points and Allison Hadaway added 10 points.
After a second place regular season finish in the North Division, Whatcom Community College ends the year with a record of 17-and-10.
