Former Bells & BHS Star Named All-American

Former Bellingham Bells and Bellingham High School star Austin Shenton has been honored by Baseball America. The Florida International University third baseman has been named a second team preseason All-American by the prestigious sports magazine.

According to the FIU release, Baseball America annually polls major league organizations' scouting departments to vote on the team and asks that they make their selections based on performance, talent and professional potential. In the past, the Preseason All-America team has been a predictor both of the first round of the draft and of team success.
Shelton hit .344 with 9 homeruns and 29 RBIs in 2018 for the Panthers. He was named second team All-Conference USA and to the 2018 C-USA Commissioner’s Honor Roll last season. The former Red Raider played in the Cape Cod League last summer leading the Wareham Gatemen to a league title while earning Postseason MVP honors.
