SOCCER
The Sehome girls soccer team is on to the quarterfinals of 2A state. The Mariners knocked off Hockinson 3-2 at Civic Stadium Tuesday.
Sehome improves to 17-2-0 on the season. They will play the winner of Wednesday's Ellensburg/Sequim match in the round of eight next.
Another Northwest Conference squad has advanced. Burlington edged East Valley of Spokane 3-2 Tuesday. The Tigers will play Selah in the next round.
Other teams that have advanced to the quarterfinals include North Kitsap, Liberty and Fife.
VOLLEYBALL
Ferndale stayed undefeated, downing Arlington at home Tuesday in opening round District 1 tournament action. The 3rd seeded Golden Eagles posted a 3-0 sweep of the 6 seed Eagles to advance to the semifinals.
Ferndale (16-0) will square off with second seeded Stanwood Thursday in a winner to state match at Marysville Pilchuck High School beginning at 7:00pm.
