Vikings Host Columbia Bible College Tonight

BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Western Washington University returns to non-conference play Saturday hosting Columbia Bible College on Saturday, Dec. 8 at 5 pm in Carver Gym.
The Vikings are off to a 6-2 start to the season with a 1-1 record in Great Northwest Athletic Conference play.
WWU opened GNAC play last weekend going 1-1 on its annual road trip to Oregon, defeating Concordia 83-66 and falling in double overtime 96-88 in double overtime.
SCOUTING THE BEARCATS
The Vikings host the Columbia Bible College Bearcats in a non-conference game on WECU Court in Carver Gym…marks the first meeting between the two schools…Columbia Bible College is a Canadian college located in Abbotsford, BC, roughly 30 miles from the WWU campus…CBC plays in the Pacific Western Athletic Association where they have an 0-6 record so far in the 2018-19 season…Saturday’s game is an exhibition game for the Bearcats, but counts for the Vikings…point guard Gabe Mannes leads the Bearcats and is 3rd in the PACWEST averaging 22.0 points per game.

The Vikings opened GNAC play going 1-1 against the Oregon schools, defeating Concordia 83-66 in Portland and then fell in a double-overtime thriller at Western Oregon, 96-88…Trevor Jasinsky again led the Vikings averaging 25.5 points per game during the road trip, scoring 51 points in the two games (24 vs. CU, 27 vs. WOU)…Micah Winn added 42 points to average 21.0 points per game, including a career-high 23 points (all in the second half) vs. WOU...Luke Lovelady also averaged double-digits during the week with 14.0 points per game, including a 20-point, 11-rebound double-double vs. Western Oregon.
