Bellingham's Butenschoen Commits to Simon Fraser University
December 4, 2018
It looks like one of the star two-way lineman on the Bellingham High School football team is heading north to continue his playing career. Christian Butenschoen announced via social media that he has committed to play for Simon Fraser University in Burnaby, British Columbia.
The senior posted a "COMMITTED Simon Fraser University" photo featuring the team helmet on Twitter Monday, writing: " I Give god all the glory now it’s time to walk the path Rep the leaf Ris1n9".
Butenschoen, a 6'-3", 280-lb offensive and defensive lineman, helped the Red Raiders to a 5-and-4 record and a share of the Northwest Conference Lake Division championship this season. He earned 2nd team all-conference honors in 2017 and was ranked No. 75 in the History of Whatcom County Football Top-100 players of 2017.
Simon Fraser University went 1-and-9 in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference in 2018.
