Local Sports Cancelations & Changes

Another round of winter weather is hitting Whatcom County and beyond. It has caused more cancelations, postponements and schedule changes for local sports.
Prep Sports
Friday's Squalicum at Arlington boys 3A district playoff game has been postponed. The two teams are now scheduled to play Monday at 5:00pm. The Ferndale girls game at Snohomish was also moved to Monday. That tip-off is scheduled for 8:00pm.
In the 2A, the Bellingham at Lynden boys game originally scheduled for Saturday will now be played Monday at 5;00pm. Sehome at Mountlake Terrace boys has been rescheduled to Monday as well at 7:00pm.
On the 2A girls side, games involving Bellingham and Lynden scheduled for Saturday have been moved to Monday. The Red Raiders will play at Archbishop Murphy at 6:00pm . The Lions will host Cedarcrest at 5:00pm.
1A boys and girls district basketball games for Saturday 2/9 will not be played. The games have been moved to Monday with the following schedule:
2/11 Cedar Pk Christian vs. Meridian boys 6:00pm @ Mt. Vernon Christian High School
2/11 Kings vs. Lynden Christian boys 6:30pm @ Mt. Vernon High School
2/11 Nooksack Valley vs. Kings girls 7:30pm Mt. Vernon Christian High School
2/11 Meridian vs. Lynden Christian girls 8:00pm @ Mt. Vernon High School
All 23 regional wrestling tournaments have been canceled by the Washington interscholastic Activities Association. The WIAA is working on a new 32-entry format for Mat Classic at the Tacoma dome next week.
WWU
The Western Washington University men's basketball home game versus Northwest Nazarene is still on schedule for Saturday at 7:00pm. According to WWU Athletics, campus crews will be on call to handle any needed clearing of parking lots and routes to Carver Gymnasium.
WCC
Whatcom Community College has canceled both the men's women's home games versus Everett CC scheduled for Saturday. No rescheduled date has been announced.
Bellingham Blazers
The Bellingham Blazers host Southern Oregon this weekend. Friday & Saturday at 7:45pm & Sunday at 1:30pm. According to the Blazers Facebook page there have been no cancelations or changes.
Bellingham United FC
Saturday's Washington Indoor Soccer League semifinal match between Bellingham United FC and Tacoma Narrows FC at 7:35pm at the Bellingham Sportsplex has been postponed by a week. The semi-finals will now be played on 2/16 and finals on 2/23.
