Regional Wrestling Cancelled by Weather

Another blast of winter weather has canceled more prep sports. The Washington Interscholastic Activities Association has canceled all 23 boys and girls regional wrestling tournaments due to weather conditions.
Regional tournaments were scheduled to start locally at Blaine (1A)High School and Meridian High School (2A) on Saturday.
The WIAA announced the move "in the best interest of safety and equal opportunity for all participants" via press release Thursday morning.
According to the release the WIAA is now working with their own staff and tournament managers to develop a 32-entry Mat Classic Tournament to begin on February 15th at the Tacoma Dome. Details of that schedule are expected to be released Monday, February 11th.
The WIAA is advising participants, parents and coaches to work through their school administration with any further questions.
