2017-2018 Record: 6-5; 2-4 in League

The Nooksack Valley football squad has their hands full for the 2018 campaign. They open the season against a big and improved 2A squad in the Sehome Mariners. 4 of their final six games pit them against playoff squads within their own division in the Northwest Conference.

 

Then there is the pressing matter or replacing All-Everything star quarterback Casey Bauman.

Pioneers head coach Robb Myhre says they have to approach that task a little differently. 

 

  

 

 

 

Myhre will turn the signal calling duties over to senior Austin O'Bryan who will have some big weapons to target in Baylor Galley and Evan Neitling. 

​

O'Bryan says the talent around him has helped make him feel comfortable stepping in at QB. 

​

Up front Myhre is looking for big things from Hayden Hester, Easton Zylstra and Landon Bruland on both sides of the ball. 

​

As for the tough schedule in the 1A ranks of the NWC. Myhre is looking at the end results. 

​

"You're going against great programs and the nice thing is that if you can make it out of our league, you're going to do well in the playoffs, said Myhre. "We saw that with Meridian last year, if our league had not prepared them probably the way the competition in this league prepared them, they probably wouldn't have gone all the way to the Dome."  

 

 Nooksack Valley will open the season versus Sehome at home August 31st.
