AP Football Poll: Whatcom County Down to
3 Ranked Teams

Whatcom County is down to three ranked teams in the week six Associated Press prep football poll. Lynden, Lynden Christian and Mount Baker remain in the Top-10 rankings released Wednesday.
Lynden (5-0) remains the highest ranked local team. The Lions stayed at No. 3. following a 31-14 victory over Lakewood last week. Lynden will play host to Burlington (2-3) Friday in a match-up of the top two teams in the NWC 2A Sky Division. You can hear the game on The Doug Lange Network beginning at 6:45pm.
Undefeated Lynden Christian (5-0) stayed at No. 4 in 1A classification. The Lyncs beat Nooksack Valley 38-19 last Friday, despite losing starting QB Trajan Schouten to an injury. LC hosts Meridian this week.
The Trojans (3-2), previously ranked 6th, fell out of the top-10 after losing to Mount Baker 41-20 last Friday. Meridian was listed outside of the top-10 in the "receiving votes" section of the rankings.
Mount Baker (3-2) was the lone local team to move up this week. The Mountaineers jumped one spot to No. 8., they visit Nooksack Valley (3-2) Friday.
The only other ranked team in the Northwest Conference is Archbishop Murphy. The Wildcats (1-2) slipped 2 spots to No. 10 in the 2A after not playing last week. Oak Harbor (5-0) is the lone Wesco 3A North team in the rankings at No. 8.
