Blazers advance to 2nd round of WSHL Playoffs

The Bellingham Blazers survived a slow start to post a 4-3 victory over Southern Oregon Saturday at the Bellingham Sportsplex. Connor Peers scored the game winner in the 3rd period to clinch the WSHL, best-of-3 first round playoff victory for the Blazers.
Bellingham advances to the second round of the Thorne Cup Playoffs. They will face the Tahoe Iceman the weekend of March 23rd.
The Blazers fell behind 1-nothing early in the 1st and 3-1 early in the second before evening things up at 3-3 heading into the final period. Peers got the power play, game winning goal with 13:35 left to go in the 3rd. Tommy Steven and Dan Halstead combined on the assist.
Robbie Eicrhelberger had two goals and Ruslan Novruzov also found the back of the net for Bellingham. Goalie Avery Heath made 18 saves in the win.
