Matt James Hits Late Home Run to Lead Bells to Series Win in Victoria

Bellingham designated hitter Matt James hit a solo home run in the top of the 8th to lead the Bells to a 4-3 road victory over Victoria Sunday at Royal Athletic Park. With the win, Bellingham takes the 3-game series versus the HarbourCats.
It was the third longball of the year for James, who is tied for the team lead in home runs. The Bellingham native leads the Bells in hitting with a .347 batting average.
Outfielder Connor Mack also went deep for the Bells. He went 2-for-3 with 2 RBI's and 2 runs scored in the win.
Taylor Davis (2-0; 0.87 ERA) pitched the final 2 and 1/3 innings for Bellingham to earn the victory.
At 15-and-6 Bellingham has the best record in the West Coast League. After going 9-and-1 over their last 10 games the Bells are 4.5 games in front of Victoria (9-9) in the North Division.
Bellingham is off Monday and returns home to play Tuesday at Joe Martin Field. The Bells will play a non-league game versus the Seattle Wallbangers beginning at 6:35pm.
