Bells Sweep Portland on Father's Day

The Bellingham Bells completed a sweep of the Portland Pickles with a 3-2 Father's Day victory at Joe Martin Field. The win gives the Bells the best record in the West Coast League at 10-5.
On a day that saw the Bells held to just 4 hits, Cody Pasic supplied the big blow. The University of Maine catcher delivered a 2-run double in the bottom of the 2nd. Bellingham also scored earlier in the 2nd on a Dusty Stroup RBI single.
Portland (9-5) racked up 9 hits in the game, but was held to just two runs scored in the 4th inning.
Will Smith (2-0; 2.16 ERA) picked up his second victory of the year giving up 6 hits and striking out 2 batters in 5 and 2/3's innings worth of work . Taylor Davis notched his 3rd save of the year after working a perfect 9 inning with 2 strikeouts.
After five straight wins the Bells are off on Monday. They are back on the road Tuesday to start a 3-game series versus the Cowlitz Black Bears (7-8) at Story Field. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35pm.
