Bells Open WCL Playoffs in Kelowna Tonight

Bellingham opens up the West Coast League playoffs tonight in Kelowna. The Bells and Falcons play the opener of their best-of-three North Divisional Series at Elks Stadium. Games two and three (if necessary) will be at Joe Martin Field in Bellingham Saturday and Sunday.

Bellingham (35-19) posted the best records in the both the first and second half of the season in the WCL's North Division. Kelowna (28-26) advanced to the playoffs for the third time in the past four seasons with an 11-3 victory over Wenatchee on the final day of the regular season.

Bellingham and Kelowna split their season series with 3 wins each. The squads went 1-and-1 at Elks Stadium to open the season and 2-and-2 during the final four regular season games at Joe Martin Field.  

Tonight's first pitch is set for 6:35 pm. Justin Armbruester (2-1; 1.37 ERA) is scheduled to go to the mound for the Bells versus Jared Akin (4-4; 5.32 ERA) for the Falcons. According to the Bells Facebook page there is a viewing party for game 1 at the Buffalo Wild Wings at Bellis Fair Mall beginning at 6:00pm.
