Bells Back on the Road After All-Star Break
July 18, 2018
Fresh off the West Coast League All-Star break, the Bellingham Bells will open up a three-game road series versus Walla Walla. The Bells will square off with the Sweets tonight at Borleske Stadium.
Catcher Matt James supplied the big Bells highlight in Tuesday's All-Star Game. The former Ferndale High School star hit an opposite field home run in the bottom of the seventh as the North beat the South 10-6 at Civic Field in Port Angeles.
Bellingham is tied with the Portland Pickles for the best overall record in the WCL at 23-and-12. The Bells have already clinched a postseason berth by winning the North Division in the first half of the season. At 5-and-4 Bellingham trails Yakima Valley by 2 games in the second half standings in the North.
Walla Walla (18-15 overall) is 3-and-3 in the second half. They are 1.5 games back of the Pickles and Corvallis Knights in the South Division.
Nick Hull (1-1; 2.16 ERA) gets the start for the Bells. Sean Sullivan (0-0; 4.22 ERA) gets the nod for the Sweets. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35pm.
