9 Local Prep Fastpitch Players Honored by Washington State Softball Coaches Association

Nine Whatcom County prep fastpitch players have been honored by the Washington State Softball Coaches Association. As first reported by the Tacoma News Tribune, the All-state softball teams were released earlier this week.
Sehome High School led the way in the 2A ranks locally with a total of three players singled out. Pitcher Savannah Smith and 3rd baseman Carissa McDowell were named to the second-team and catcher Megan Hall was honorable mention. Lynden was represented on the second team by catcher Megan Paoli and 2nd baseman Alexis Fredin.
Three players from Lynden Christian earned honors in the 1A classification. Infielder Avery Dykstra was named to the second-team. Pitcher Sam VanLoo and catcher Tori Bajema were honorable mention. Mount Baker outfielder Kaylea Sleveland was also honorable mention.
