Girls Soccer: 6 Local Teams Still Chasing State

Six Whatcom County girls soccer teams are looking to punch their tickets to state this week. District Tournament action resumes Tuesday with Squalicum, Lynden, Sehome, Bellingham, Meridian and Lynden Christian all trying to advance.
In the 3A ranks Squalicum (13-3-1) is a win away from clinching a state berth. The Storm play Snohomish in the semifinals Tuesday at 6pm at Shoreline Stadium.
in 2A play, Lynden, Bellingham and Sehome are all in action at Civic Stadium Tuesday. The Lions (10-6-1) and Red Raiders (11-5-2) square off at 5:00pm in a loser out contest. Sehome (15-1) follows at 7:00pm in a semifinal vs. Archbishop Murphy. With a win the Mariners seal a state berth and a spot in the district championship game at Sedro-Woolley High School Saturday.
In 1A bi-district action Meridian will play the South Whidbey/Bush winner in a loser out game November 1st. If the Trojans (10-7-2) win they will play Seattle Academy in a loser out/winner to state, 4th place game Saturday at 3:00pm at the Starfire Sports Complex.
One more win will send Lynden Christian (10-6-2) to state. The Lyncs will play Cedar Park Christian/University Prep winner Saturday in the 3rd place game. Win and their in, lose and the season comes to an end.
