3 Local Prep Teams Named Academic Champs

3 Whatcom County prep teams have been honored by the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association for their academic prowess. Lynden Christian softball and girls golf join the Squalicum girls tennis team as Spring Academic State Champions.
The Scholastic Awards Program recognizes the team with the highest grade point average among all Washington high schools in their enrollment classification.
The Squalicum girls tennis team posted a 3.982 GPA. Lynden Christian girls golf came in at 3.886. The Lyncs softball team posted a mark of 3.780.
2017 Spring Sports Academic State Champions
The winning teams will be presented with a special plaque at the upcoming WIAA, Dairy Farmers of Washington, Les Schwab Tires State Championships.
